Cost Transformation

We help MATs and schools with the
process of identifying and reducing costs.

Many educational establishments are looking to reduce their costs and be compliant with regulations.
We take the pain out of understanding your spending, managing contracts and suppliers, and give you insights into savings opportunities and compliance issues - enabling you to take action that positively affects your school.

Identify

Do you know what you are spending and where?

A lot of MATs and schools struggle to have a centralised repository for their contracts and to understand how that relates to their spend.

We can identify cash-releasing savings opportunities and process efficiencies based on your past spend information and put actions plans in place  to help make your budgets go further.

In the absence of a controlled, managed procurement operating model your school will not know who you are in contract with and worse, whose terms you are on! This leads to a common issue of spending over the odds for goods and services.

How it works

You pass us your spend data from your finance system, we then go to work for you; cleansing, categorising and analysing, using modern driving AI tools and our team of  procurement specialists.

From the analysis, we work to identify contractual agreements you should have in place. We can even use LOAs to reach out to your suppliers to build a Contracts Register for you.

Visibilty

Spend visibility is the first step to implementing strategic procurement.

Our cost transformation work focuses on simplifying your spend records, enabling you to make small changes, which will allow you to focus and strengthen your educational organisation, so you can pursue your school’s goals.

Through our expertise and state-of-the-art technology solutions, we work to analyse your spend profiles to bring clarity on how the school’s budgets are being spent. This gives you a holistic understanding of where money is being spent by your school or MAT.

Insights

Reporting and benchmarking that you can act upon

Whether you are looking for savings opportunities or an audit of your governance and compliance performance, we make clear recommendations for you to take action on.

We will review your full spend history, including:

  • Utilities and energy
  • Facility management
  • Information technology
  • Cleaning & Catering
  • Educational services and supplies
  • Non-educational services and supplies

If you have a specific area of concern, we can do a “deep dive” on specific contracts to review, at transaction level, the value for money you currently achieve from your contracts.

We present our findings and recommendations back to you, giving you a full report that you can use with your governing boards.

It doesn’t stop there…

What MATs and Schools are saying about us

“It’s been a great pleasure working with the talented team at Education Buying on this spend audit exercise.

It was eye-opening to find all the ways in which we can continue to save tangible amounts by implementing unobtrusive tools and highlighting which key areas to target first.

The report we received has put us on the right path to a more strategic approach to procurement, so that we can keep saving money in the years to come.”

A Multi Academy Trust in the North West of England

Case study

We were approached by a large multi-academy trust in the North West of England to identify opportunities for them to be more strategic about their procurement.

A major step in becoming more strategic is to conduct a spend analysis, which identifies key sourcing opportunities.
